It was a hoot! Thanks to Dance For Destruction for setting it all up. 7-9-06: There's now an official myspace Frisk page and an unoffcial myspace Frisk page! Thanks to Dobbo from the latter for pushing me to update this page & create the new myspace Frisk page. I've also updated many of the shows and the history on this website today. Quick note- as many of you know, Hudson Criminal, who played the final Frisk show @ Burnt Ramen, features Zac, Hardcore Dan, & Luke from The Frisk and Robin from Scattered Fall. 5-1-06: You can find out more about what we're doing now in music, art, and politics here. 3-24-05: Whew, it's been a while. There's a released Frisk track on the latest double cd Amoeba Music compilation (#5!) available from the always ass-kicking Hip Hop Slam Records for $6! Coming up on our friends GC Records is a compilation with an... uh... acoustic version of "Leech"?!? The song's from a KALX Live set, and the compilation is to benefit indymedia.org. We're pretty sure that all of the tracks are exclusive/unreleased, so don't hesitate when it comes out in mid-2005! Finally, we're still figuring out when our next shows will be, this site will be updated at that point. In the meantime, we'll continue updating this with new info as it comes up. Rock on!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 10-28-04: A little short notice, but we've got one more 2004 show, and it's coming up quickly! The Frisk will be rocking Bottom of the Hill in San Francisco on this fast-approaching Thursday, November 4. Also taking the stage that night will be Lost Sounds and Battleship. The show is all ages, $8, and doors are at 8:30p. See you there!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 8-13-04: We're playing a hot San Francisco show this Friday August 20th at the Bottom of the Hill! Headlining is the legendary Skeeno punx Seven Seconds! Playing first is Sacramento faves The Whiskey Rebels. Doors at 8:30, the Whiskey Rebels are on at 9:30, so don't come late. All ages, $10 tickets available through the Bottom of the Hill. We're gonna stay young until we die, because if we can rock together why can't we walk together?
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 6-22-04: While writing for the new Frisk record is slow, Hunter is busy with the upcoming AFI record, Zac is busy with Shadowboxer, and Jesse is busy with running for office. There's a darn good chance The Frisk will play at least one fundraiser for Jesse's campaign. Shadowboxer is already planning on playing one of these shows because, well, they rock! Their new website is up in the links page, as is the official AFI page. We're posting the Townley For Council fundraiser shows as they are confirmed on the "Calendar" page of: This rad banner was made by DIY Politics, an endorser of Jesse's campaign (along with Punk Voter, Plea For Peace, and Bands Against Bush)
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 4-15-04: What? An unreleased Frisk tune on the new Rock Against Bush Volume 1 compilation? You bet! The song "Basket of Snakes" was recorded during the "Audio Ransom Note" sessions and we decided to save it for a special occasion. We're proud to be a part of the first "Rock Against Bush" compilation, check out it out here:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3-15-04: Hardcore Dan was asked to leave the band for personal reasons. His final show with The Frisk was Friday March 26th in Oakland. We've started our new record, so stay tuned for more shows and more surprises! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 3-8-04: These past shows were a blast, and we really enjoyed playing with our old friends in the Subhumans, Naked Aggression, and The Enemies (who played their last show on this trip). We also had a blast with our new pals From Ashes Rise! The Observers also played one of the shows, and they rocked hard!-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1-12-04: We're playing 6 shows with the Subhumans next month on the West Coast as well as some more local shows- see the "Shows" page for details! An unreleased Frisk song "Basket Of Snakes" will be on the upcoming Punk Voter compilation on Fat later this year! We're proud to be one of the many bands supporting this organization focused on highlighting the political shenanigans of the Dubya/Cheney Administration, and urge y'all to check out their site! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 12-21-03: The last Frisk show of the year is this Saturday December 27th in Sonoma at The Shop- all ages, 6:30, $5! Plus, we're rockin' Fresno in February! Details on the "Shows" page!-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 12-12-03: Three more shows, we had a blast with the 300+ of y'all who showed up at Gilman Street tonight! The final 3 shows this weekend and next weekend are updated- so come on down and join right up! Thanks to all of you non-California folks who've come out to our shows over the past month, it's been great meeting new folks and seeing old faces! One serious note: we noticed many dates claimed that our live show featured members of AFI. Hunter is a part of us, but he is extremely busy with AFI. We have been rockin' across the nation with Luke from ENVAIN on skins. Any billing of The Frisk as featuring a member (or multiple members) of AFI is not the responsibility of The Frisk. We have never suggested that Hunter is touring with us, since it is not the truth. Hope this helps clarify any questions out there, thanks! -Jesse Luscious -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What a month, our brand new cd, "Audio Ransom Note", is available through Adeline Records! We leave on our US tour in a few days, check out the list of shows here. If you have a fanzine or work at a radio station and want to hook up with us on tour, contact Adeline as soon as possible. Many thanks to Crawlspace Booking and Kickstand booking, and the Teflon Dons, for putting together these dates. Half of the shows will be with Naked Aggression! Finally, mad props to The Dwarves and Rancid for making the past month of shows some of our biggest crowds! Thanks, it's been a blast. Also, mad props to the other bands- Scattered Fall, This Is My Fist, My New Life, Tronn, The Last Chapter, Nekromantix, and Tiger Army- and the various venues, especially Gilman Street and the Phoenix Theater. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's PARTY time! Come on down to one of our record release shows and check out the new tunes and the new Adeline cd. We're working on a limited picture disc 12" out soon, but until then it's on cd only. See ya at the shows! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Welcome to the new website for The Frisk! After a ton of hard work by Anime at Putty, here it is. Sure, parts are still under construction, but that's business as usual for us. Goodbye ol' big blue html-1995 style website, it's been fun! -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- We've been having a blast playing up and down California the past few weeks, from Sonoma to Auburn to Anaheim to Hollywood to San Pedro to Chico. Many thanks to the bands we played with and the kids who showed up, not to mention the folks who put everything together. Bands include Envain, Scattered Fall, Drinkers Purgatory, Toys That Kill, Unexpected, Tronn, Fifths, Los Kung Fu Monkeys, Left Alone, Scissorhands, Killer Dreamer, Swing Ding Amigos, The Kinison, Death By Stereo, The Last Chapter, and Strung Out. News shows are being added daily, including the upcoming US tour. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HEY! Friday August 8th we had a great time out at The Shop in Sonoma. The Shop, at 21600 8th St. East in Sonoma, is an all ages venue run by a group of punk kids and their parents that has been putting on shows for 4 years. We had a blast and have to thank Scattered Fall, Envain, The Last Chapter, Scissorhands, and Tronn for making the show rad! Special thanks to Envain for sharing equipment and to Scattered Fall and The Last Chapter for organizing the show. Hopefully we'll return to the Shop soon!
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Hunter's on tour with his full-time band A.F.I.. Our show in June at Gilman was a blast, and it featured the debut of new drummer Luke.
